Posting New Messages

Use the same mail functionality to send a message to a mailing list that you use to e-mail anyone (e.g., new message). To send a message to all list subscribers, address the message to the list name followed by the Andrew mailing list server address. For naacsos this address is:

naacsos-list@lists.andrew.cmu.edu

Replying to a Posted Message

To contribute a response to a posted message, it is best to use the Reply option from your mail software. Your reply will be distributed to all list subscribers including the original subject line and message for reference. In cases where your response might include a large file, you may want to ask subscribers to send you a request to your personal e-mail address for a copy of the file.

Note: The Reply functionality makes it very easy to respond to the entire mailing list. This functionality can also make it easy to mistakenly send a personal comment to the entire list. Think before clicking Send!
