Belief Diffusion

"The Construct model has recently been extended to include additional cognitive and information access limitations. It functions in two ways:

  • The literacy mechanism restricts the amount of information that is available to illiterate agents to ensure that agents behave in a consistent manner with respect to print media information.
  • The access mechanism prevents certain agents from interacting with certain types of information sources, such as newspapers or web pages.

This expanded Construct model has been used to explore the effects of such mechanisms on belief diffusion, knowledge diffusion, and agent decisions. Additionally, it can be used to assess the limitations of the naive Construct model and to understand the error that would be associated with omitting such parameters."
